THE RESULTS

Miles Coop Gin in Miles, Texas runs 2 Continental 141's. They converted one stand to a Power Roll Gin Stand. The Gin Manager, Scott Sonnenberg, had this to say about his decision to purchase the Power Roll Gin Stand:

"When I first heard about the Power Roll the numbers seemed too good to be true. Naturally, I was a little skeptical. My ginner, Tommy Cmerek, is very intelligent and one of the best around. When he said he thought it would work I knew it was worth trying. After we decided to install it a lot of the gins around us were talking about what a stupid decision it was and they thought it wouldn't work. The numbers on increased turnout and capacity are just as good as they said they would be."

Scott proudly called in the following report on October 7th.

"We don't usually get our 141s over about 8 or 9 bales per hour. We were running both stands and turning 22 bales per hour! That means that the Power Roll was ginning 13 or 14 bales per hour. While we were running both stands we were getting 35.49 percent turnout. We turned off the conventional stand and just ran the Power Roll stand and our turnout went to 37.1 percent! It was the same cotton from the same field. 1.6 percent turnout difference between both stands running together and just the Power Roll! We'll run them side by side soon and see the real difference between the two."
